Cross Match Technologies starts the year with some posturing, today announcing the addition of three new members to its global sales team and the promotion of a long time sales executive. The biometric identity management solutions company has hired Steve Gedney, Doug Natal and Ed Hartman and appointed each to a key sales leadership role in service of what Cross Match is calling a sales realignment initiative.
Speaking in praise of the new staff, Eric Vermillion, Cross Match’s senior vice president of global sales remarks, “We have assembled one of the finest sales leadership teams in the biometrics industry and I look forward to our partners and customers feeling the value of a stronger and larger organization in the field.”
Each new member brings a unique background to the Cross Match sales team. Based out of London, England, Steve Gedney is bringing experience from work with IBM, Bordland and Computer Associates as he leads European and APAC sales for his new company.
Ed Hartman will be leading Cross Match’s North American law enforcement and commercial market sales team, while Doug Natal will be heading the United States Federal sales team while supporting the company’s Identity as a Service (IDaaS)approach for its WEBS platform. Both bring extensive experience to their new positions.
Natal has more than 25 years of technology experience, working with everyone from EMC and Verisign to StorageTek, Alliance Consulting and more, giving him what Cross Match describes as a clear understanding of the Federal customer’s mission needs.
Hartman’s experience stretches for longer than 20 years in the field of enterprise software sales and sales management for companies such as IBM and NICE Systems. He also brings a military career, having recently retired as a lieutenant colonel from the US Army Reserve.
Meanwhile, Cross Match has also bolstered from within its ranks, promoting Greg McConnell to a new position: vice president, global alliances. Formerly a Labcal Technologies partner and Cross Match sales executive, McConnell’s new success is an example of what Vermillion calls a commitment to “…the success and further development of our global partnerships.”
In other hiring news, near the end of last year Cross Match also announced a new interim CEO, Michael Kohlsdorf, while the board of directors looks for a replacement to David Buckley, the company’s former chief executive officer who left to pursue other interests.
