Fujitsu Frontech North America Announces PalmLock Biometric Access

Palm vein imaging is at home in physical access control deployment situations. The biometric mode that scans the vascular patterns in the palm of a user for authentication is fast, contactless and practically un-spoofable since humans ideally aren’t leaving records of their vein patterns wherever they go.

Fujitsu has been a major proponent for this specific type of biometric identification, and the access control extension of its PalmSecure technology is already at work in a number of places including a laboratory in UC Irvine.

Recently, Fujitsu Frontech North America announced a new palm-vein based biometric security solution: the PalmLock Biometric Access Solution. The new physical access control solution combines PalmSecure biometrics with realtine North America’s bioLock management software. The end result is what the companies are declaring the only biometric access management control solution certified by SAP.

“We have been very pleased with the performance and reliability of Fujitsu’s PalmSecure technology. Registration goes quickly and the security from front to back end is excellent,” says Thomas Neudenberger, realtime North America’s COO. “We’re excited to have a partner like Fujitsu that can provide value-added benefits of a global ICT company with sales penetration in many business verticals that we don’t or can’t reach today.”

“We are delighted to work with realtime North America to include their market proven bioLock software as a key component of the PalmLock solution. We believe this solution will benefit resellers and integrators who already have established SAP practices and give them an opportunity to bring greater value to their existing SAP customers,” says Randy Fox, vice president, currency handling and identity product solutions at Fujitsu Frontech North America. “Adding this key extra layer of security along with Fujitsu’s PalmSecure biometrics technology will increase protection for SAP clients from the threat of costly fraud and security breaches.”
